The Royal Portrait
Rotterdam welcomes the new King Willem-Alexander with a more then life size dubble portret of Beatrix and Willem-Alexander on the front of the 151 metre high Nationale Nederlanden building at the Weena.
The artwork is a gift to the new King, but at the same time an hommage to Queen Beatix
Artists Gijs van Bon and Thijs Kelder Designed the 30 metres wide and 36 metres high linedrawing. During the daytime the fluor orange is very well seen. But at night the city and region have also a clear view of the biggest royal portret ever made. When it is dark the flrorescend orage is being animated by a big projection in which you will see the slow transition from Beatrix into Willem-Alexander.
